SPHE

SPHE is part of the wider subject area of Wellbeing and is closely linked with PE, CSPE, Digital, Learning to Learn and RE.

When studying SPHE in Inver College, students are given the opportunity to explore their personal development, health and well-being.

Every student is supported in creating and maintaining supportive relationships and becoming active and responsible citizens in society.

Junior Cycle SPHE looks at the four strands covering topics such as Rights, Anti-Bullying, Coping Skills, Respect, Being Healthy, Friendships, Positive Mental Health, Adolescence, Relationships and Sexuality and Substance Abuse.

Senior Cycle SPHE is under the name Pastoral Care. Students continue their study of some of the strands from Junior Cycle but there is more of a focus on Relationships and Sexuality, Substance Abuse, Positive Mental Health and Life Skills.

Every student is encouraged to reach their full potential physically, socially, mentally and emotionally in an atmosphere and environment in which they feels safe, respected and valued.
